J is for Juggling

I'm in the midst of a crazy week, which is why I've titled today's (rather yesterday's) post, Juggling. Though I keep my posts here short, writing one everyday is definetely a challenge. I also contribute to another blog, Paper Hangover, and today was my turn to post. I'm getting ready for a 7 hour road trip to Buffalo to visit family. I do like road trips, butI'm not really looking forward to this one since my three little ones will be accompanying me. The line "Are we there yet?" wasn't made up out of thin air, and I know my 7 hour drive will feel more like 17 hours by the time it's all done! I'm just hoping they take an hour or two nap.

Between oil changes, new brakes, hair cuts, blog posts, and an SCBWI class in NYC, I haven't had much time to work on my manuscript. Not to mention that I have my son's Spring party at school (did I mention I'm the class parent) on Friday right before I get on the road.

My middle son has a birthday party, for a school friend, tomorrow afternoon. I still haven't packed, and I have 6 loads of laundry to get to. But I'm not complaining - REALLY. I wouldn't trade my chaos for a dull life any day. I just wish I had more energy!

Next week many schools are on vacation for Passover and Easter. Do you have any exciting vacation plans?

  3. Yup, I know how you feel. The most exciting thing I'm planning for the Easter break is several long lie-ins. Between school mornings and 6am starts at work, a lie-in is a major luxury!

Hahaha, not very exciting at all really...

  4. I know how you feel too - definitely juggling too much today and shouldn't be blogging right now - must run.
    Thanks for the post!

  6. You have such a good lookout on your busy schedule! Seems like the busier we get, the more we can get done.

  7. It is true that the more you have to do, the more productive you become. However, it sounds like an awful lot you have taken on. Car trips are hard with kids. Once you get there, its great because everyone's attention is on them but in the meantime...it's just you and the highway. I stopped by to visit on the A-Z so will be back to see what else you have cooked up for us. Ha.

  8. Ah, who doesn't like to juggle; the actual game, not the idea. Dealing with all the hectic hustle and bustle of life can be stressful. But it does make us more productive and self-efficient, as you articulate.

Vacation plans...hmmm...perhaps Vegas early Summer time with some friends!

    Nice blog!

  9. Hey Michelle,

I presented you with the Stylish Blogger Award! You've come a long way and you deserve all this and more.

Stop on by and celebrate if you have time. :D

  10. No vacation plans here, but I know the feeling. Maybe you should give yourself a "writing vacation" and just jot down notes if something comes to you, so you aren't overly stressed about not having time to write? If I know I'm not going to have time to write, rather than beating myself up for it, I take a pause and give myself permission not to freak out about the missing time.

Good luck with the rest of the A to Z Challenge, and your road trip with littles!

  11. I discovered the 'scheduling' feature of Blogger, only to miss the fine-print of actually clicking on the 'Publish Now' button because I was afraid it would not work right. So, several of my posts didn't get published, until I returned. Blogger needs to be more clear in their instructions. Hope you'll try to catch up because I certainly do enjoy what you've posted, so far.
